The name "42 North" was chosen to represent the geographical coordinates of East Aurora, which is 42.767 degrees north. This was done to reflect the brewery's commitment to using local ingredients and supporting the local community.
The brewery is housed in a renovated 1920s-era car dealership, which was transformed into a 15-barrel brewhouse, taproom, and beer garden. The building's history is reflected in the rustic and industrial design of the brewery.
42 North Brewing Company is known for its wide range of beer styles, from traditional Belgian ales to innovative American IPAs. The brewery also has a barrel-aging program, where they age some of their beers in whiskey, wine, and other spirit barrels to create unique flavors.
