Yuengling brewery tour is America’s most iconic free brewery experience, offering a 60-minute guided journey through the historic caves and production facilities of D.G. Yuengling & Son — the oldest operating brewery in the United States, founded in 1829.
The Yuengling brewery tour begins with a short film on the brewery’s Prohibition-era survival, followed by a walk through the original 1831–1841 hand-dug beer caves carved into Sharp Mountain by Schuylkill County coal miners. These caves maintained a constant 50°F temperature — essential for beer storage before refrigeration.
You’ll then visit the modern bottling line and finish in the tasting room with three complimentary samples of Yuengling’s core beers, including Traditional Lager, Golden Pilsner, and Lord Chesterfield Ale.
"Arrive before 11 AM or after 2 PM to avoid peak crowds. Summer weekends can have 30–60 minute wait times. There’s no online booking — it’s first-come, first-served. Bring cash for the gift shop; they don’t accept credit cards for small purchases."
