π Short History:
Columbus Brewing Company (CBC) is a well-known brewery based in Columbus, Ohio. The brewery has a rich history that dates back to the late 19th century.
The original Columbus Brewing Company was established in 1830, but it was not until 1988 that the current incarnation of the brewery came into existence. The modern Columbus Brewing Company was founded by Jeff Edwards and his wife, Beth, who initially focused on producing traditional English-style ales.
In 1996, the Edwards sold the brewery to Doug and Beth Bean. Under the Beans' ownership, the brewery began to expand its offerings and experiment with different styles of beer.
In 2002, brewmaster Eric Bean (no relation to the owners) joined the team. Eric Bean brought a new level of expertise and creativity to the brewery, and under his leadership, CBC began to gain recognition for its innovative and high-quality beers.
In 2014, Columbus Brewing Company moved to a larger facility to accommodate its growing production needs. This move allowed CBC to increase its distribution and offer a wider variety of beers.
In 2015, Eric Bean and his wife, Beth, purchased the brewery from Doug and Beth Bean. Under the Beans' leadership, Columbus Brewing Company has continued to grow and innovate, earning numerous awards and recognition for its beers.
Today, Columbus Brewing Company is known for its wide range of beers, including its flagship IPA, Columbus IPA, and other popular offerings like Bodhi, an award-winning Double IPA, and Creeper, a Triple IPA that has also won numerous awards.
