π Short History:
Diamond Bear Brewing Co. is a brewery located in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. It was founded in September 2000 by Russ and Sue Melton, making it one of the oldest breweries in the state. The name "Diamond Bear" is a reference to both the state's diamond trade and the fact that Arkansas was once home to the Louisiana black bear.
The brewery was initially located in a 1500 square foot space in downtown Little Rock, where it began producing traditional European style lagers. In 2004, Diamond Bear moved to a larger facility in order to meet increasing demand for its beers.
In 2013, Diamond Bear expanded again, moving to a 10,000 square foot facility in North Little Rock. This new location allowed the brewery to increase its production capacity and also included a restaurant and taproom, known as the Arkansas Ale House.
Diamond Bear Brewing Co. has won several awards for its beers, including gold and bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival. The brewery is known for its commitment to traditional brewing methods and ingredients, and for its range of both year-round and seasonal beers.
As of 2021, Diamond Bear Brewing Co. continues to operate in North Little Rock, contributing to the growth of the craft beer industry in Arkansas.
