π Short History:
Enki Brewing is a microbrewery located in Victoria, Minnesota, USA. It was founded by two long-time friends, John Hayes and Dan Norton, who shared a passion for home brewing. The name "Enki" is derived from ancient Sumerian mythology, where Enki was the god of water and creation, a fitting name for a brewery.
The idea of starting a brewery began in 2007, but it wasn't until 2013 that Enki Brewing officially opened its doors. The brewery is housed in a 100-year-old building that was formerly a creamery and later a woodworking shop. The founders renovated the building themselves, preserving as much of the original structure as they could.
Enki Brewing started with a 10-barrel brewing system and initially offered three beers: an American Wheat, an English Mild, and a Belgian Golden Strong. Over the years, they have expanded their beer offerings and have won several awards for their brews.
In 2016, Enki Brewing moved to a larger location in downtown Victoria, which allowed them to increase their brewing capacity and add a taproom. The new location also includes a patio and event space.
As of the present day, Enki Brewing continues to operate in Victoria, offering a wide range of beers and hosting various events. They remain committed to their mission of making "world class beer" and fostering a sense of community.
