π Short History:
Finback Brewery is a craft beer brewery located in Queens, New York. It was founded by two homebrewers, Basil Lee and Kevin Stafford, who had been friends since high school. The duo decided to turn their passion for brewing into a business and started planning for the brewery in 2011.
The name "Finback" was inspired by a whale that washed ashore in Breezy Point, Queens in 2012. The Finback whale is also the second largest animal in the world, which the founders thought was a good representation of their big and bold beers.
After a couple of years of planning and construction, Finback Brewery officially opened its doors to the public in 2014. The brewery is located in a 13,000 square foot warehouse in Glendale, Queens, which includes a 20-barrel brewhouse and a spacious tasting room.
Finback Brewery is known for its wide variety of beers, including IPAs, stouts, sours, and saisons. They are committed to brewing innovative and complex beers, and they often experiment with new ingredients and brewing techniques.
Since its opening, Finback Brewery has become a staple in the New York craft beer scene and has gained a loyal following. In 2018, they expanded their operations and opened a second location in Brooklyn, New York.
