π Short History:
Grandma’s House is a unique brewery located in Denver, Colorado. It was founded by Matthew Fuerst and opened its doors to the public in 2014. The brewery is known for its unique concept, which combines the comfort and nostalgia of visiting your grandmother’s house with the enjoyment of craft beer.
Matthew Fuerst, a former lawyer, decided to leave his profession to pursue his passion for brewing. He attended the Siebel Institute in Chicago, a renowned brewing school, to learn the craft. After graduating, he returned to Denver and began planning for Grandma’s House.
The brewery is located in a former antique store on South Broadway, which adds to its vintage charm. The interior of the brewery is designed to resemble a typical grandmother’s house, complete with old-fashioned wallpaper, antique furniture, and vintage knick-knacks. The brewery even has a knitting club and hosts events like bingo nights, further adding to the nostalgic atmosphere.
Grandma’s House is a small-batch brewery, meaning it produces beer in smaller quantities to ensure quality and variety. The brewery offers a rotating selection of beers, including traditional styles like stouts and IPAs, as well as more experimental brews.
Despite its relatively short history, Grandma’s House has made a significant impact on the Denver craft beer scene. It has been recognized for its unique concept and quality beers, and continues to be a popular destination for both locals and visitors.
