Essential Packing Checklist for a Safe & Enjoyable Beer Adventure
Back to GuidesWhat to bring on a brewery tour starts with three non-negotiables: a valid photo ID, closed-toe shoes, and cash for small purchases. Beyond that, smart packing ensures comfort, safety, and full access to every tasting room and production area.
Required for any beer tasting. Even if you look 30, breweries enforce strict 21+ policies. International visitors: passport is best.
Mandatory in all production areas for safety. No sandals, flip-flops, or open heels — you’ll be turned away at the door.
Many gift shops (especially Yuengling, New Glarus) don’t accept credit cards for purchases under $20. Bring $20–40 in singles and fives.
Stay hydrated between tastings. Most breweries have water stations or allow refills.
For photos, navigation, and ride-share apps. Tours can last 1–2 hours — keep your battery alive.
Even if booked online, a screenshot or printout speeds up check-in, especially at busy locations like Sierra Nevada.
"I always carry a small notebook to jot down beer names I love — it’s easy to forget after 3–4 samples! Also, wear dark clothing — light colors show beer spills instantly. And never skip the water bottle — pacing is everything on a multi-stop tour."
