📜 Short History:
Helltown Brewing is a craft brewery located in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded by Shawn Gentry in 2011. The name "Helltown" is derived from the nickname of the town of Mount Pleasant, which was given during the Whiskey Rebellion in the 18th century.
Shawn Gentry, a homebrewer, started Helltown Brewing after purchasing the brewing equipment of the defunct Fort Pitt Brewing Company. The brewery initially focused on traditional, European-style beers, with an emphasis on quality and consistency.
Helltown Brewing has grown steadily since its inception, expanding its production capacity and distribution network. In 2018, it acquired Rivertowne Brewing out of bankruptcy, which significantly increased its brewing capacity and allowed it to expand its product offerings.
As of now, Helltown Brewing's beers are distributed in several states, and the brewery operates two taprooms in Pennsylvania. The brewery is known for its wide range of beers, including IPAs, stouts, and Belgian-style ales.
