Mad Fox Brewing Company was a brewpub located in Falls Church, Virginia, United States. It was founded by Bill Madden, a well-known figure in the brewing industry, and Rick Garvin. The brewery officially opened its doors to the public on July 12, 2010.
Bill Madden, the CEO and Executive Brewer, had over two decades of brewing experience prior to establishing Mad Fox. He is considered a pioneer in the craft beer industry in the Washington D.C. area. Madden was the first brewer in Virginia to win a Great American Beer Festival (GABF) medal for a Virginia brewery in 2002.
Mad Fox Brewing Company was known for its European-style craft beers. The brewery had a 15-barrel brewing system and offered a range of beer styles, including IPAs, stouts, and lagers. They also offered a food menu that paired well with their beers.
The brewery was recognized for its quality beers and won several awards. For instance, it won the 2011 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) Silver Medal for its Kellerbier KΓΆlsch.
Despite its success, Mad Fox Brewing Company announced in June 2019 that it would be closing its doors due to financial difficulties. The brewery officially closed on July 21, 2019, marking the end of nearly a decade of operation.
