Man Skirt Brewing is a craft brewery located in Hackettstown, New Jersey, USA. It was founded by Joe Fisher, a homebrewer who decided to turn his passion into a business.
Fisher started homebrewing in 2008 and quickly fell in love with the process. He began entering his beers into competitions and won several awards, which encouraged him to consider brewing as a career.
In 2014, Fisher launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for Man Skirt Brewing. The campaign was successful, raising over $27,000. The name "Man Skirt" comes from Fisher's fondness for wearing utilikilts, a type of modern, utility kilt for men.
The brewery officially opened its doors in October 2015 in a historic bank building in downtown Hackettstown. The building, which dates back to 1892, was renovated to house the brewery, but many of its original features, such as the vault, were preserved.
Man Skirt Brewing produces a variety of beer styles, including English, German, and American styles. Some of their popular brews include "The Great Porter," "Better Than Pants," and "Gold Bar Blonde."
As of the current date, Man Skirt Brewing continues to operate in Hackettstown, serving a variety of craft beers to locals and visitors alike.
