π Short History:
Odd Otter Brewing Company is a craft brewery located in Tacoma, Washington, United States. It was founded by five friends: John Hotchkiss, Teresa Smith, Pablo Monroy, Owen McGrane, and Derrick Monroy. The idea for the brewery was conceived in 2010, but it wasn't until 2013 that the friends began to seriously pursue the idea.
The founders launched a Kickstarter campaign in 2013 to raise funds for the brewery. They successfully raised over $20,000, which helped them to secure a location and begin the process of opening the brewery.
Odd Otter Brewing Company officially opened its doors to the public in November 2014. The brewery is located in a historic building in downtown Tacoma, which was built in 1907. The building has been renovated to accommodate the brewery, but it still retains many of its original features.
The brewery is known for its unique and creative beers, which often feature unusual ingredients and flavor combinations. Some of their notable beers include the Ottermelon Hefeweizen, Momma Otter's Pancake Porter, and the Odditea Series, which are beers brewed with tea.
Odd Otter Brewing Company is also known for its commitment to the local community. They regularly host events and fundraisers to support local charities and causes. They also have a strong focus on sustainability and strive to minimize their environmental impact.
As of 2021, Odd Otter Brewing Company continues to operate in Tacoma, serving a variety of craft beers to locals and visitors alike.
