π Short History:
Thirsty Dog Brewing Company is a well-known craft brewery based in Akron, Ohio, USA. The company was established in 1997 by John Najeway and his business partners. The brewery's name was inspired by Najeway's dog, a Labrador Retriever named Sahara.
The brewery initially started in a small space in Canton, Ohio, but due to the growing demand for their beers, they moved to a larger facility in Akron in 2007. This facility, a former 19th-century brewery, provided the space needed to increase production and expand their offerings.
Thirsty Dog Brewing Company is known for its diverse range of beers, including lagers, ales, and specialty beers. Some of their popular brews include the Siberian Night Imperial Stout, Old Leghumper Robust Porter, and the seasonal 12 Dogs of Christmas Ale.
The brewery has won numerous awards for its beers. For instance, the Siberian Night Imperial Stout has won multiple gold medals at the Great American Beer Festival.
In 2017, Thirsty Dog Brewing Company opened a tasting room and brewery in the Flats East Bank neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, expanding their presence in the state.
As of 2021, Thirsty Dog Brewing Company continues to operate in Akron and Cleveland, with their beers distributed in several states across the U.S.
