π Short History:
Titletown Brewing Co. is a brewery and restaurant located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. The brewery was established in 1996 and is named after Green Bay's nickname, "Titletown," which refers to the city's successful history in football.
The brewery is housed in a historic building, the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad Depot, which was built in 1899. This building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996, the same year the brewery was established. The depot was restored and converted into a brewpub, preserving much of the original architecture and design.
Titletown Brewing Co. started brewing their own beer in 1999. Brent Weycker, the founder of Titletown, was inspired by the craft beer he tasted in Colorado and wanted to bring that experience back to Green Bay. The brewery initially offered six different types of beer, but their selection has expanded significantly over the years.
In 2014, Titletown Brewing Co. expanded their operations by opening a new 10,000-square-foot brewery and tap room in the former Larsen Canning Company buildings, which are located across the street from the original depot. This expansion allowed the brewery to increase their production and distribution capabilities.
Titletown Brewing Co. has won numerous awards for their beers, including at the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup. Their most popular beers include the Green 19 IPA, Johnny "Blood" Red, and the Canadeo Gold.
As of 2021, Titletown Brewing Co. continues to be a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering a wide selection of craft beers, a full food menu, and a unique setting that combines history with the modern craft beer experience.
